The term nerve entrapments; It is used to express that the nerve is under pressure at a level after it leaves the spinal cord. The most common nerve entrapment is compression of the median nerve in the wrist. It is called carpal tunnel syndrome.

It is characterized by numbness and burning sensation in the wrist and especially in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th fingers. Some of the patients are at a level that does not require surgery yet. These patients can be given wrist splints and medications. Surgery is required in patients with advanced compression. The most common complaint in patients with nerve compression requiring surgery is numbness in the fingers that wakes them up at night.

In patients who do not require surgery, cortisone injection can be tried under the carpal ligament in the wrist. Generally, the complaints of the patients regress after this injection and there is no need for an operation.
