We all tend to exaggerate our circumstances, assuming that there are opportunities that come or go that determine how we feel. When this happens, how we spend our day loses its importance. We are concerned with what we are at the end of the day. For example, if we didn’t get a promotion that day, we wouldn’t think that our day is meaningful either. What matters is the result rather than the process. But this thought undermines our enjoyment of life. “Who you are, what you think, what you feel, what you do, what you love is the sum of what you focus on.” says. When Gallagher was diagnosed with cancer, he thought for a moment and chose to say, “Life wants me to focus on my cancer right now, but I choose to focus on my life.” He preferred to enjoy the food he ate over the coffee he drank that day. Therefore, it is important what we focus on in our lives. Sometimes letting go of the emotions and behaviors that drag us down will create a radical change in our lives.
What we focus on in life determines our life
