10 key signs of autism redefined

by clinic

As in many developmental problems, early diagnosis is important in autism. With early diagnosis and early special education, many children with autism are improving.

For early diagnosis, parents should evaluate their children objectively. It is very important at the first stage to share these evaluations and observations with both their children’s doctors and a child development specialist and to do the necessary tests.

In the light of the findings obtained from recent studies, 10 basic symptoms that may be associated with advanced stage communication disorders in 6-12 month-old babies were defined. It is stated that the diagnosis can be made very easily if the babies are followed in terms of these symptoms.

Here are 10 basic signs for a diagnosis of autism:

1-Rarely smiling at people who look at him;

2-Rarely imitating other people’s voices or gestures such as smiling;

3-Delayed or infrequent vocalization;

unresponsive to name at 4-6-12 months;

5-10. not communicating with hand signals from the month;

6-Inability to make eye contact;

7-Rarely attract your attention;

8-Unusual body movements and unusual posture and other repetitive behavior such as stiffening of the hands, feet, legs or turning the wrists;

9-When you want to remove it, it does not reach towards you;

10- Motor developmental delay in terms of movements such as rolling and crawling.

Existence of only one of these symptoms does not mean that your child has autism. Several symptoms must coexist.

When parents observe a few of these symptoms in their children, they should have a developmental test done, start the development follow-up, and if necessary, start the special education process.
