It is thought-provoking that while Family Health Centers continue their usual work and receive 500,000 vaccines during the day, hospitals cannot even provide 2,000 vaccines.
Efforts to overcome in Turkey continue at full speed. So where is the main center of this work? Of course, the figures announced by the Ministry of Health in this period when the number of people vaccinated by the vaccination of those over 65 years of age is very remarkable. While 70 out of 400 thousand vaccines are administered in family medicine during working hours, only 2,000 patients are vaccinated in 81 provinces and 973 districts, in city hospitals, state and private hospitals, between 6 am and 6 am in the evening, and the rate of vaccination is very low. As AHEF, we know that; Even though the fight against Covid19 is not shown, we congratulate all family physicians and family health workers who are the real heroes of the vaccine, as well as family physicians, who have made this big difference.
However, although family physicians have followed all routine infancy vaccinations without reducing the vaccination rate in the last 12 months, they have followed all pregnant women, babies and children, outpatient clinic services have stopped in all hospitals for 6 months and they have undertaken the country’s health services, they have suffered a great injustice and their problems have still not been resolved.
As AHEF, we have repeatedly conveyed chronic problems such as the shortage of family health workers to the Ministry of Health. We talked about the physical inadequacies of family health centers and the need for public buildings everywhere. Despite this, the problems that have deepened for 5 years still continue. Family physicians benefited from the 12-month unconditional supplementary payment offered to all hospitals by the Ministry of Health, only 3 months conditionally.
During this period, 12-month unconditional additional payment to family physicians, who work with such devotion and carry all the burden of the country in vaccination, and obviously play the most important role, is as halal as white milk of mothers. We are sure that the authorities of the Ministry of Health know these facts. As AHEF, we want to urgently fix this issue by sharing it with the public.
