421 citizens affected by the earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.7 in the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş and 7.6 in the Elbistan district were treated at the Ege University Medical Faculty Hospital. Currently, 30 patients are receiving inpatient treatment in different services.
Ege University, which sent a medical team to the region under the coordination of the Ministry of Health for the treatment of the injured citizens after the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, offers treatment services to the injured who came to İzmir from the earthquake region. While 391 of the 421 earthquake victims who applied to EU Medical Faculty Hospital were discharged after completing their treatments, the treatment of 30 disaster victims continues in different units.
Ege University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Budak said, “The sick and injured from the provinces affected by the 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş were transferred to different provinces of Turkey for treatment purposes. Our university mobilized for the treatment of our citizens who were transferred to Izmir. All units of our hospital became vigilant. After the earthquake, we came together as a university to provide all kinds of assistance, especially health, to our disaster victims. Under the leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, all institutions of our state were mobilized for the earthquake zone. We are a university with the largest and most equipped hospital in our region. We use all the facilities and facilities of our hospital for the treatment of our citizens. We discharged 391 citizens. 30 of them are under treatment. Together, we bandage our wounds. We carry the pain of our citizens who passed away in our hearts. I wish God’s healing to our wounded. Our medical teams and rescue teams worked with superhuman effort from the first minute of the earthquake. I thank all of them,” he said.
