DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION
As a result of the study, a significant difference was observed in the anxiety levels of the participants who had social appearance anxiety in the experimental group. Following the termination of the group, the follow-up test was applied to the participants one month later. The results of the test also show the effectiveness of the study.
When session processes are evaluated;
The fact that the social appearance anxiety levels of the participants were different from each other in the selection of the experimental group increased the efficiency of the sessions. It was observed by the group leader that clients with low levels of anxiety helped clients with high levels of anxiety during the process and gained different perspectives. Clients with average levels of anxiety played a catalyst role in the group.
In the trust game played in the first session, which was aimed at structuring the group and creating a sense of trust in the group, the results were interesting that the clients with high anxiety levels felt comfortable with their eyes closed and being controlled by someone else, while the clients with low anxiety levels felt comfortable with their eyes open and controlling others.
During the sessions, group members did not have any trouble opening themselves up. The group passed in a therapeutic atmosphere.
The clients followed their homework regularly and conveyed their awareness within the group to their groupmates at the end of the week when the sessions took place.
The changes observed by the group leader were communicated to the clients.
The clients applied the cognitive techniques they learned in the sessions in their daily lives.
While the clients expressed their views on how their groupmates evaluated the process in the last session, it was concluded that each client had an effective time in the process.
After the termination of the group, the clients stated that they understood the effects of the group process better as time went on, and that they showed their awareness that they could not realize during the process, with the examples they gave in the family or friends environment, and they were surprised.
Considering the effectiveness of the sessions, it is thought that the same result will be achieved when the program is studied with the control group for 8 weeks.
