Neck length should be understood as the distance between the lower edge of the chin-menton and the suprasternal prominence. This should be half the head height measured between menton-vertex (the top of the head).
A YOUNG NECK
5 criteria are defined for an ideal and young neck. These criteria are;
1. Sharp and distinct edge from the corner of the mandible to the menton.
2. It should show a slight inward angulation under the hyoid cartilage in the neck. This point is slightly below the neck-chin (cervicomental) angle.
3. Slight protrusion of thyroid cartilage in the neck.
4. Prominence of the anterior edge of the sternocleidomastoid muscle between the sternum and mastoid
5. Cervicomental angle between 105 and 120 degrees.
Aesthetic classification on the neck;
I; There is still no neck deformity or a slightly youthful neck appearance
II; There is only increased laxity in the skin
III In addition to these, there is fat accumulation
IV; have platysma bands
V; Microgenia or retrognathia var.
VI; The hyoid bone is located lower.
