While divorce rates are increasing day by day in Turkey, according to researches, neither financial concerns nor infidelity take the first place among the reasons for divorce. According to couples, the first reason for divorce was ‘irresponsible and irresponsible’ behavior, while Psychologist Volkan Hoşkan said that the first 10 months are the most critical period for the restoration of unhealthy relationships and gave important warnings to couples.

Mentioning the importance of the decisions made and the steps taken since the beginning of marriage, Hoşkan said, “First of all, many psychology-based studies conducted in our country and in countries with similar education levels offer us some important results. Marriage steps taken without knowing each other adequately, without perceiving each other’s interests, pleasures, and most importantly, their expectations, result in unhappiness, disappointment, and divorce as its natural outcome. Today, such marriages and divorce rates are very high. When divorce decisions are examined, we see that irrelevant and irresponsible behavior, which is one of the biggest underlying factors, paves the way for this. This process develops as follows; In fact, in an immature relationship, problems begin to develop after two people who do not understand and know each other and their expectations get married and live together. When they realize how different tastes, expectations and opinions they have, they start to act indifferent and irresponsible, which we consider one of the biggest factors in the end of most marriages. The most important factor to be considered here is that mutual devotion and respect minimize the risks that these differences may pose, and thus make the relationship sustainable in a balanced, healthy and happy way.
