Avansas, the shopping location of the workplace, has published the cleaning chemicals shopping and consumption habits survey it conducted with nearly 1,000 customers. The top 5 cleaning group products were liquid hand soap, surface cleaner, bleach, dishwashing liquid and bathroom cleaner. Interest in purchases shifted to liter products.
The purchasing habits of cleaning products have changed rapidly during the pandemic period. Hygiene was one of the most sought after issues both at home and in work environments. According to the “Employees’ Habits of Purchasing Cleaning Chemicals Products” research conducted by Avansas, the demand for these products continues even though the effect of the pandemic is weakening gradually.
LITER PRODUCTS ARE HIGH
According to the research conducted with nearly 1,000 Avansas customers throughout Turkey, the most preferred cleaning chemical product is ‘liquid hand soap’; ‘Surface cleaner’, ‘bleach’, ‘dishwashing liquid’ and ‘bathroom cleaner’ are next in line.
In the research, small and medium-sized businesses prefer high weight products when shopping for cleaning chemicals. 5-liter products are purchased in liquid hand soap, surface cleaner, bleach and bathroom cleaner products. Individual customers, on the other hand, mostly buy 1-liter products. Only in liquid hand soap, 2.5-liter products are proportionally more preferred.
EFFECTIVE CLEANING OVER THE PRICE
Employees pay more attention to effective cleaning while shopping for cleaning chemical products. While shopping for liquid hand soap, individual customers and small businesses prioritize the powerful cleaning of the product, medium-sized businesses also consider the price.
The most important factors when purchasing bleach were determined as the product’s effective cleaning, long-term effect, and compatibility with animal and human health, which has been in our lives more recently.
When purchasing a bathroom cleaner, the price is given due importance to the long-term effect of the product, its suitability for human and animal health, and effective cleaning.
The most important factor for individual customers when purchasing dishwashing detergent; while the product is easy to rinse; small businesses pay attention to its degreasing effect and its health / chemical content. In addition to these qualities, medium-sized businesses also consider that the product does not dry the skin.
CLEANING CHEMICALS HAVE BEEN ESSENTIAL FOR CONSUMERS
When the shopping behavior of Avansas customer employees from the cleaning category is examined, it is pointed out that there are significant changes in 2022 compared to 2021, when the pandemic period was felt more intensely.
Bonnets, shoe covers, masks and armbands, which are at the top of the shopping cart of small and medium-sized businesses in 2021, are not among the top 10 cleaning categories most purchased in 2022. Contrary to masks, bonnets, shoe covers and armbands, which experienced a decrease in demand by up to 70 percent, the intense interest shown in hygiene during the pandemic period shows continuity in the exchange of cleaning chemicals. In this context, the demand for bleach and surface cleaner products increased by 20% in 2022 compared to 2021.
