How much water should we drink

by clinic

While some people drink a lot of water, others say: ‘I only drink one glass of water a year!’… Indeed, there are many differences between people in terms of the daily amount of water they take. However, when researched, there is not much difference between the body water composition of these people. So how does this happen? Those who say they drink less water maintain their water balance with other foods and active and stable internal balances in their body. There are many mechanisms in the body that regulate the amount of water, which is indispensable for life.

Yes, water is life, and perhaps the first medicine in respiratory and urinary tract diseases and constipation. When we get up in the morning, wash our hands and face and brush our teeth, we realize that our body, which cannot get water during the night and loses water through the respiratory tract, skin and kidneys, has started to send us the order to drink water. But with one or two glasses of water, but with tea, soup or fruit juice, we can remove it. Or, our thirst center orders you to drink plenty of water after sweating or increased activity. When a little child is thirsty, he will show it immediately, and he will show it until the feeling of thirst is quenched. In other words, our body’s adjustment mechanisms immediately warn us. No additional warning is needed other than this perfectly tuned thirst center. Apart from the feeling of thirst, plenty of fluid intake is not necessary, except in some situations (losses during sports, constipation, diarrhea, febrile diseases, respiratory tract and urinary tract diseases).

It doesn’t make much sense for us to be forced to drink an extra 2-3 liters of water every day, except to comply with these adjustment mechanisms that warn us; it is also inhumane and tedious in the long run. Carrying us to the toilet frequently does nothing but increase the edema if we stand too long, and perhaps cause a mild water intoxication-load.
A frequently asked question is whether it is beneficial to drink warm water, drink water with lemon… Of course, water is life and it should be taken in the required amount, but wouldn’t it be better if we do it according to our body’s needs, our pleasure-taste?!

With the water in tea, fruit juice, soup, watermelon… our body can meet its water needs. If the water in them or the water formed during the burning of these foods in the body is not enough for our body, well-tuned mechanisms will give us the order to drink water.

Conclusion:
There is no logical-scientific explanation for drinking plenty of water to lose weight. Science and your body’s needs will guide you.
