Detox; It is a body cleansing done in the form of liquid fasting. The goal is to slow down digestion and rest the body. A healthy human body spends time and effort on nutrition, especially fast food style foods. It takes 6-8 hours to digest a meat dish, 3-4 hours for a carbohydrate meal, 1-2 hours for a vegetable meal, and a maximum of half an hour for fruit. In other words, when we look at the total processes, digestion is a situation that tires the body in a significant way. As a result of this long periodic digestion, it causes the accumulation of toxins in the body. The detox process, where digestion slows down, is a great opportunity for your body to rest.
Detox is not starving, but consuming the energy your body needs, in liquid form, in a way that provides sufficient vitamin and mineral supplements.
What Should Be Considered While Detoxing?
We do not use beverages such as coffee, black tea, cola, power drinks and acidic beverages and alcohol in the detox process because we should not put a load on our liver.
The first beverage you consume every morning; You should have 2 glasses of water at room temperature and drink 2 liters of water daily.
Freshly squeezed vegetables or fruit juice (other than acidic ones, especially orange juice) can be consumed throughout the day.
You can use non-animal foods such as cucumber, tomato, pepper, olive, fried slice of rye bread, corn flakes, fruit salad, oats for breakfast.
You should prefer your herbal teas warm, not hot.
Fresh fruits, vegetables or oil seeds can be preferred in the middle meals.
Salads, boiled vegetable dishes without meat, vegetables with olive oil, freshly prepared vegetable soups can also be consumed.
Of animal protein, you can only choose a small amount of lean cooked fish.
Foods of animal origin such as meat, chicken, eggs and dairy products should not be consumed.
You can add protein sources such as lentils, chickpeas, dry beans and black-eyed peas to your salads in boiled form.
Heavy carbohydrates (pasta, rice, white bread) should not be consumed.
The last meal should be consumed between 19:00 and 20:00 in the evening, and food should not be consumed afterwards.
How to Detox?
2 glasses of warm water should be consumed every morning before breakfast, and cold press-squeezed fresh fruit and vegetable juice should be consumed instead of breakfast. Fresh fruit, dried fruit or oil seeds can be preferred for middle meals. Warm herbal tea can be drunk after meals. Legumes, lean and boiled vegetables and salad can be consumed in main meals. Protein requirement is met from legumes, but if you insist on taking food of animal origin, lean cooked fish can be consumed in the range of 150-200 gr. Meat and dairy products, processed foods, sugar and carbohydrates should never be.
The detox program is also a mental relaxation program. Because the hormonal changes caused by tension cause the body to wear out and changes in weight. It is recommended that you stay away from electronic devices, places with heavy air pollution and heavy work tempo during the detox process.
How to Proceed?
The first 3 days are the time when your habits change, so your determination is very valuable. During this period, you can increase the size and frequency of your middle meals. Clean air, plenty of water and rest are very important.
During the first few days, you may experience headaches, fatigue, symptoms similar to the common cold, diarrhea, stomach cramps, muscle or joint pain, and even a skin rash. Such symptoms are very rare, but if you encounter such burdens, do not panic. These are just side effects of the acclimation process. On the 2nd and 3rd days, your body begins to adapt to your new nutritional system. In order to accelerate the removal of toxins, it will be useful to sweat by doing sports or entering the field. But do not try this with a lot of sports, because it causes lactic acid to accumulate in your body and reduce the detox effect. It would be more real to prefer sports such as light walking, swimming, yoga and cycling. On the 2nd and 5th days, you will feel your strength increase, adapt to this new life and feel lighter. You can be sure that you will sleep less and wake up more energetic, your body, which has thrown away all the waste, will now be more fit and bright. You will notice that your skin is glowing. On the 2nd and 7th days, you can be sure that you will start life with a very bright skin, lightened and a clearer mind, completely accustomed to it.
How Long Is It Applied?
The minimum duration of a detox program is 4 days, ideally 7 days. We recommend doing this at least 2 times a year, as you can repeat this every season (4 times a year). Of course, we would like to remind you again that you should pay attention to how you live in the middle.
Longevity After Detox:
Many people who detox think that once they switch to this lifestyle, they will have to give up all the joys of life, but this is not without fault. If you set up a diet that will consist of 25% of your detox choices and 75% of healthy choices, this will help you to lead a very stable life. When you do the opposite, toxins will begin to accumulate.
