WHAT IS CARPATH TUNNEL SYNDROME?

Carpal tunnel syndrome is more common in women than men. It can be seen in cases where the wrist is always bent and in individuals who frequently perform movements such as using a keyboard, washing clothes by hand, and kneading dough. It is more common in those who work in jobs that always put a load on the hand and wrist.

In recent scientific studies, the relationships between wrist circumference, waist circumference and body mass index in carpal tunnel syndrome have been investigated, and it has been stated that waist circumference and whole body fat have a valuable role in carpal tunnel syndrome.

In other words, it has been determined that our body weight also affects the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome. Apart from these reasons, carpal tunnel syndrome can also trigger some diseases. These include diabetes, thyroid disease, gout, and increased body fluids during pregnancy may cause pressure build-up in the carpal tunnel and in this case, discontinuous carpal tunnel syndrome.

CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME TREATMENT TECHNIQUES

In some patients, physical therapy, limitation of wrist movement for a reasonable period of time, and exercises for carpal tunnel syndrome can be performed as treatment.
