Food goes through many processes from field to fork. They are showered with a toxin (harmful substance) that starts with the use of pesticides in the field and extends to the meeting with protective elements for the purpose of purification and long-term storage. It is possible for us to get these wasteful elements from the air and water we eat, as it can be revealed by our body’s activities such as power generation. If these toxins are not removed from the body, they increase risks such as cancer, heart diseases and premature aging. In addition, in individuals who do not consume 5 portions of fruit and vegetables every day, do not drink enough water, consume heavy alcohol and caffeine, work with high tension, travel frequently, and are physically inactive, toxins can cause inability to wake up in the morning, edema, gas, bloating, weakness and muscle aches, headaches. It can also cause complaints such as pain, forgetfulness and difficulty in concentration. In particular, we need to purify our body in order to get rid of the negative effects of spring on the immune system of autumn and fatigue.

The main organ that removes toxins from our body is the liver. These elements are excreted from the kidneys through urine, from the skin with sweat, and from the intestines through feces. Considering caffeine (tea and coffee consumption), alcohol, drugs, smoking, exhaust smoke, high protein and saturated fat consumption, which complicates the work of the liver, we realize that we need a detox. The basic rule in detox is to get enough vitamins and minerals from natural nutrition, that is, from fruits and vegetables. For this, in addition to including these foods in the main meals, fruit and vegetable juices and herbal teas can be included in the middle meals. Some other foods that should be counted in the content of detox programs are whole grain breads, legumes, fish, prebiotic yogurt and oil seeds (walnuts, hazelnuts). During this period, caffeine, alcohol and ready-made foods should be avoided and this program should be applied in the middle of 3-7 days. Daily 35-40 minutes of activities increase the effectiveness of the detox.

Detox programs should definitely be done in the presence of an expert. Especially those with organ failure (heart, liver, kidney failure), pregnant and lactating, high blood pressure, diabetes patients and children should definitely not participate in detox programs without expert guidance.

Deto-light Soup: 6 medium onions, 3 tomatoes, 1 carrot, 1 small cabbage, 2 green peppers, 1 celery, fresh seasonal greens (any greens can be used), 1 tablespoon of bulgur, 1 teaspoon of olive oil, a little salt and black pepper, cayenne pepper, cumin.

Chop the vegetables finely. Add enough water to cover it. Add salt and spices and boil for about 10 minutes. After taking it off the stove, add fresh seasonal greens and consume it.

Fitoks Herbal Tea: Add 1 teaspoon of mate and 2 teaspoons of green tea to 1 liter of water and boil for 5 minutes. Add 1 tablespoon of crushed rosehip and 1 stick of cinnamon to this brewing tea and let it sit for 10 minutes. Consume with lemon slices after brewing.
