Big toe pain is the protrusion of the big toe joint with an increase in the angle of the first toe, namely the metatarsal bone, which is called hallux valgus with a finger.
Foot pain is one of the most common complaints of our patients who applied to the orthopedic outpatient clinic with pain. There are two most common causes of foot pain. Foot heel pain and toe pain. There is an angulation here with the way the first toe of the big toe opens towards the other fifth finger and the comb bone comes inward. The incident is actually a swelling in the foot, but when viewed from the outside, it is not just the bone that causes pain. A swelling occurs under the membrane surrounding the bone and the skin around it, and inside the shoe connected to the tram, against the impacts inside the shoe. The most common cause of this pain in the feet of patients is that the membrane surrounding the joint under the skin creates the impression that there is a bone protrusion from the outside. In the first stage of the disease, the swelling here appears as redness and pain. In the second and third stages, this complaint gradually increases. You can see that the joint here is broken. In the last stage, there is a situation where two fingers go on one toe, that is, contrary to the effect, they say that there is a bone in the big toe, and in fact, the bone itself forms a protrusion. While we classify it, we classify it in four stages. Stage 1 is swelling and redness of the skin under the skin, in the second stage it comes towards the inner part of the comb bone, in the third stage the nail part of a finger goes outwards, in the fourth stage the pain gets worse and one finger comes over two fingers.
Patients with Hallux Valgus disease apply to the outpatient clinic with pain and deformity. Apart from that, they have difficulties in choosing shoes. Wearing shoes that are narrow in the front reveals one of the biggest symptoms of the disease. Patients with bone protrusions on the big toe cannot wear narrow shoes. They have to wear wide front or sports shoes. In Hallux Valgus disease, genetics is at the forefront. If family members have a problem with the toe, you should not wear high heels and narrow front shoes.
Halllux Valgus Disease can occur in the early stages, as well as with increasing age. However, it is more common in women than men. The incidence of this disease is very high, especially after the age of 40.
Weight gain, flat foot problems, toe problems, people with high dome are likely to have protrusions on the big toes. In patients with rheumatic disease, the soft tissue imbalance caused by rheumatism can disrupt the alignment of the toes.
