BIA – (BIO IMPEDANCE ANALYSIS)
It is a safe, painless, non-invasive, non-radioactive, rapid technology that accurately analyzes body composition. Body resistance is measured with a low amplitude electric current sent to the body. Analysis based on scientific data determines the structure that makes up your body. For this reason, it is necessary to go barefoot on the device.
BIA
Analysis values may change during the day in devices using the BIA analysis method. For example, your value that appears to be 21% in the first measurement may turn out to be 19% after a few hours. Just as the blood pressure value is measured in blood pressure measurement and the blood pressure value changes with each measurement, the method of measuring body resistance is used in the BIA analysis method, and the results change as this value changes.
BIA – THE MOST ACCURATE MEASUREMENT
- Three hours after getting out of bed,
- After going to the toilet
- Before or 3 hours after exercising
- Approximately 3 hours after meals and excessive fluid intake,
- Before bathing, sauna and swimming.
BIA – FACTORS AFFECTING OUR FAT RATIO
- After a bath, the body fat rate may appear less than normal.
- It may seem higher than normal when we just wake up or right after a meal.
- In any disease period or women’s menstrual period (up to three days after the end of the period), during periods of intense fluid loss, this value will not be in the body standard.
- Drug use (especially hormonal drugs and intestinal regulators), long-term fasting, fever due to illness, pregnancy.
- We may not see the real values in cases such as drug and stimulant use, excessive caffeine consumption, heavy exercise.
- There may be deviations in the results of people who carry platinum.
EXPERT DIETICIAN AKIF DAĞ DIET CLINIC – BIA TECHNOLOGY
Our devices use the new technology BIA method. It analyzes the body by using resistance (resistance created by intracellular and extracellular fluids), Reactance (indicator of cell mass and nutritional status) values. These analyzes can provide more detailed results about cell structure and edema detection in your body. Some parameters may differ according to device models.
BRIEF NOTES FOR BIA RESULTS:
- Fat Rate (%) and Weight (Kg): It is the comparison of the amount of fat in our body with your weight. It is compared with reference values suitable for age and gender for fat percentage (%) and weight (kg).
- Muscle Weight: Approximately 80% of our muscles are made up of fluid. While the loss of fluid that may occur in the early stages of your diet causes changes in this value, this apparent loss can be interpreted as a loss of fluid in the muscle, not as ‘muscle loss’.
- Bone Mineral Weight: This value can give information about the mineral mass in the bone structure.
- Metabolism Age: BMI refers to the age calculated by evaluating our weight, fluid and fat status over reference values with a special algorithmic structure.
- Basal Metabolic Rate: It can be expressed as the amount of energy that the body needs daily in a still-resting state.
- Lubrication Rating Around Internal Organs: This rating expresses a numerical classification between 1-59 developed in parallel with scientific studies conducted with devices. Values between 1-13 are considered ideal, while values above 13 indicate extremes.
BIA – CAUTION: Pregnant, Pacemaker and other internal medical device users cannot use this device.
