Athlete’s performance and continuity of achievements are implied in athlete nutrition. Performance increases significantly when the athlete eats healthy with the appropriate exercise and lifestyle.
Nutritional order and nutritional needs differ according to the type of sport the athlete does, the duration and frequency of the sport. While some athletes use a strategy called carbohydrate loading, this is not the case for others.
The athlete’s nutrition before and after training is also valuable. If the sportsman chooses the appropriate nutrients he needs before the training race or the match, he gets the necessary resources before the race and his performance increases. After the race, the lost power should be stored with appropriate nutrients.
Another issue in sportsman nutrition is fluid consumption. The amount of fluid lost with sweat is higher than that of ordinary people, and therefore, the amount of beverages to be used to replace the lost water should be determined by a dietitian.
Ergogenic aids attract the attention of many athletes today; However, the types, active ingredients, doses and possible side effects of ergogenic aids should be known properly. In order to suffer financial and moral loss, the sportsman should consult a dietitian in this regard.
Those who have an active sports life should be careful about some diseases seen in athletes. Dehydration of the body, water intoxication and the sportive female triad in women affect the athlete negatively. The absence of such problems is valuable for the athlete to continue his professional life.
Many of the athletes, especially those competing in the weight category, have a fear of gaining weight, and therefore sometimes athletes resort to rapid weight loss formulas. Eating disorders also lead to a decrease in the athlete’s performance.
It is our ambition to prepare a healthy nutrition program for the athlete, taking into account the life standards, body structure and the part he is dealing with, and to contribute to his success in this way.
