NUTRITION IN RAMADAN????
The month of Ramadan is a month in which the diet and lifestyle changes for those who fast. ????
In order to maintain adequate and balanced nutrition, it is necessary to complete at least 2 meals in the non-fasting part of the day and not to skip the sahur meal. ????
▫️How should nutrition be in Ramadan?
While fasting, pay attention to adequate and balanced nutrition.
•Instead of large portions at once, eat intermittently and in small portions each time after iftar.
• Avoid eating your meals fast, chew slowly and thoroughly.
• Do not skip the sahur meal. Not having the sahur meal increases the hunger from about 16 hours to 20 hours. This, in turn, causes fasting blood sugar to drop earlier and, accordingly, to pass the day more unproductively.
•A light breakfast consisting of milk, yoghurt, cheese, eggs, whole grain breads can be served at the sahur. If the sahur meal consists of heavy meals, the rate of conversion of the meals into fat and the risk of weight gain increase as the nighttime metabolic rate decreases.
•Instead of excessive sherbet and oily desserts in iftar; prefer milk desserts or fruit desserts.
• Meet the daily water need of 2.5-3 liters between iftar and sahur.
• Take care to choose healthy cooking methods while preparing your meals. You can choose oven dishes, pot dishes, boiled, steamed.
Taking short walks 1-2 hours after iftar will help digestion.
